Dr. Courtney Owen Mattes grew up in Midlothian, Virginia and attended the Collegiate School for high school. She graduated from the college of William Mary in 2001 and played soccer for the Tribe all four years. Courtney worked as a physical therapy tech and coached soccer between college and graduate school. She graduated from VCU with a doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2006.
Courtney is licensed by the Virginia Board of Physical Therapy and joined Chesterfield Physical Therapy in 2006.
With 19 years of experience in outpatient orthopedics, she has a broad background in a multitude of orthopedic diagnoses. Courtney feels that a positive relationship between the patient and physical therapist is essential for a successful rehabilitation experience. She prides herself in the many relationships she has built over her years in practice with both returning and new patients.
Outside of the clinic you can find Courtney at the various activities of her 3 busy sons. Courtney is a diehard Washington Football Fan and enjoys classic rock , fishing and boating in her spare time.
